What We Do
After school clubs
Our after school clubs run on week days from our hubs in Crieff and Auchterarder.
Filled with fun activities, lots of hot chocolate and laughter, these offer a place for young people to relax and rewind after the school day.
Computers are available for those who wish to do their homework or young people can play a game of pool or talk through their day with staff and volunteers.
Our Youth clubs
Alongside our popular drop ins, we run age-specific youth clubs.
On a Tuesday, our S1 night in Crieff gives our younger members a safe place to have fun, take part in art and craft activities, and build relationships with one another as they complete their S1 journey. This is supported by young volunteers, who take charge of the tuck shop and lead activities.
On a Thursday, our S2/S3 in Crieff provides a safe space for young people to come and chill out with friends. There is always an optional arts & craft activity to take part in, but the pool competition is the more popular choice.
On a Friday, we have FNYC in Auchterardar. This is a partnership project with Auchterardar Parish Church and is held in the church hall. Aim at S1 to S3, this fun night is filled with a variety of entertaining activities including Wii Switch competitions on the big screen and crazy games of hide and seek.
holiday activities
Over each holiday period, we run a programme of activities for young people often including free healthy food options.
Activities can include walk and talks, trips away, drop-ins and themed events. In the summer, we always run a P7 transition week for the new S1s. This is a great way for the young people from the feeder primary schools to meet their peers and make friendship before heading to Crieff High and the community school of Auchterardar.
Employability Support
Our Employability programme runs throughout the year is aimed at school leavers aged between 16-19. Thanks to funding from Perth and Kinross Council we have recently extended this work to include a Job Club for 16-24 year olds.
Our delivery is both through one-to-one sessions and group work, and we have regular visits from key partners such as Skills Development Scotland and Project Scotland. Our employability programme provides young people an opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence and expand career, education or training choices.
Saltire & Youth achievement Awards
Recognising the key role that young people have in our community is one of our priorities and we offer a selection of Youth Awards to enable the young people to achieve in different ways.
The Saltire Awards are the Scottish Government’s way of recognising and rewarding the commitment, contribution and achievements of young volunteers in Scotland, aged between 12 and 25.
Youth Scotland’s Youth Achievement Awards are individual awards that provide a framework to support quality work with young people 14+. They offer formal recognition and accreditation for young people’s achievements.
Duke of Edinburgh Awards
Aimed at 14-24 year olds, the Duke of Edinburgh programme can offer a life-changing experience. The Bronze, Silver and Gold Level creates opportunities for young people to help in their community, get fitter, develop new skills, as well as planning and taking part in an expedition. The programme offers friendships as well as building confidence and improving self-esteem.
