Saltire Awards
Run by The Scottish Government, the Saltire Awards are there to recognise the commitment and contribution of young people who are volunteering in their community.
Designed for young people between the age of 12 and 25, the awards are broken down into four areas:
- The challenge – starting out on your volunteering journey
- The approach – 10 to 25 hours of volunteering
- The ascent – 50, 100 or even 500 hours of volunteering
- The summit – recognising outstanding volunteering contribution

Youth Awards
Hi5 Award and Dynamic Youth Awards offer young people the opportunity to get accreditation for their achievements.
The Youth Achievement Awards (YAA) are a Scottish Qualification Authority custom award which support the aim and purpose of Curriculum of Excellence.
The YAA are broken into 4 sections and anyone aged 14 and over are available can get involved. (The Platinum level has an age requirement of 16. The four sections are:
- Bronze – 60 hours
- Silver – 90 hours
- Gold – 120 hours
- Platinum – 135 hours
Recognising our young people
As volunteering is at the heart of what we do and embeds our mission of not in words only, we have our own awards to recognise our young people.
